A project that makes us smile every time it's mentioned in the studio, every time we recommend it, every time we pass by that little corner.
Serving as the right-hand escort of the narrow passage, San Benito, this less-than-fifteen-square-meter space was the smallest comprehensive venue we've had the chance to design.
The adversity of the extremely limited space we had to set up a coffee shop, with all its requirements, translated into inspiration and guidance for the project.
Given those dimensions, how could we fit a full counter while still leaving room inside for customers?
The heart of the venue would be the counter, mimicking the awkward corner (you know that designing with diagonals is not easy!)—and in the absence of square meters, we remembered cubic meters, taking advantage of the height for storage, display, and decoration.
We decided to leverage the window frames (since almost all faces of the venue were windows) as a place for customers to sit and enjoy Rambla's delicacies, designing custom windows and tables to maximize the space.
Staying true to the Rambla concept, we couldn't overlook the sidewalk, which interestingly doubles the space, extending the experience outdoors.
When all parts of a team are in the same tune, the work harmonizes, and the results exceed expectations. In this case, we had the honor of working with our friends at @magiaestudio and, of course, the team at @rambla.cafe, who earned a place in the heart of this studio.
